📋 Description

• Analyze relevant clinical and demographic information from Health Information records • Assign appropriate ICD-10 codes according to coding guidelines and regulatory requirements • Complete documentation analysis, abstracting, and code assignment by body system, organ, etiology, and morphology • Follow AHA Official ICD-10 Coding Guidelines, ICD-10-CM, CPT4/HCPCS, ASC, UHDDS, HCFA, state, federal, and hospital abstracting guidelines • Perform queries and obtain documentation required for coding • Maintain current knowledge of coding guidelines and relevant federal regulations using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS materials • Answer customer calls • Demonstrate basic knowledge of the revenue cycle • Ensure coding compliance with CMS, state, and other regulatory agencies

🎯 Requirements

• Required certification: CCA, CDIP, RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC, or CPC-A • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, coding and application • Knowledge and understanding of disease processes and etiology • Knowledge of Windows, Excel, hospital information systems, and encoders • Effective verbal and written communication in English
