📋 Description

• Analyze complex clinical and demographic information to assign ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and CPT/HCPCS codes across outpatient, surgical, and inpatient encounters • Support accurate DRG assignment and ensure compliance with regulatory standards • Perform ICD-10-PCS and CPT procedure coding • Assign and validate MS-DRGs and/or APCs and capture severity of illness and risk of mortality • Review complex documentation, perform queries, and resolve discrepancies and complex coding edits • Manage multiple work queues while maintaining coding accuracy and productivity • Provide mentorship and guidance to coding staff • Collaborate with CDI and providers to align documentation and coding • Resolve complex coding issues and communicate coding decisions and documentation needs • Identify workflow improvements and apply updated coding practices • Ensure coding outcomes support reimbursement, reporting, and compliance

🎯 Requirements

• 1 year coding experience • High School Diploma or GED • One of AHIMA-RHIA, AHIMA-RHIT, AHIMA-CCS, AAPC-CPC, AAPC-CIC, or AAPPC-COC certification • Experience applying ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and CPT/HCPCS coding across outpatient, surgical, and inpatient encounters • Knowledge of coding guidelines and DRG and/or APC logic • Ability to review complex documentation and resolve routine and advanced coding edits • Ability to manage multiple work queues • Ability to independently interpret clinical documentation to support coding accuracy and consistency
