📋 Description

• Establish and maintain discipline-specific BIM requirements for mechanical systems, including HVAC, liquid cooling distribution, piping, plumbing, and fire protection • Define and document discipline coordination workflows for model authoring, exchange, federation, clash testing, and sign-off • Continuously improve BIM requirements based on project feedback and align cross-discipline interfaces, shared parameters, and coordination priorities • Lead discipline model reviews across projects, validating model quality, completeness, and constructability • Drive discipline-level clash detection and resolution for congested mechanical piping and ductwork, equipment clearances, and electrical/structural interfaces • Support fabrication-level modeling for prefabrication and modular construction, including spool drawings, duct fabrication models, and skid or module assemblies • Participate in project coordination meetings as the mechanical discipline authority • Serve as the primary VDC point of contact for trade contractors, internal design teams, and external design firms • Onboard partners to IREN’s discipline requirements and review their BIM execution capabilities • Audit incoming discipline models for compliance and provide structured feedback through corrections • Capture project lessons learned and convert them into updates to standards, content libraries, and playbooks • Contribute discipline expertise to corporate VDC initiatives, technology evaluations, CDE workflows, and downstream model-data integration

🎯 Requirements

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in BIM/VDC coordination or mechanical building-systems design • Experience with HVAC, hydronic piping, plumbing, and fire protection in data center, mission-critical, or heavy industrial environments • Expert proficiency with Revit MEP and Navisworks • Experience with fabrication-level tools such as Autodesk Fabrication (CADmep), Victaulic Tools for Revit, or equivalent strongly preferred • Experience developing or enforcing discipline BIM standards, content libraries, and coordination workflows across multiple projects or partner organizations • Strong understanding of construction sequencing, prefabrication, and field installation practices • Ability to assess model constructability beyond geometric clash-freedom • Ability to work with trade contractors, design firms, and internal engineering teams and hold partners accountable to standards • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience • Willingness to travel to project sites and fabrication facilities as required • Authorization to work in the United States
