• Serve as JED’s primary face and voice across Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming • Build and steward relationships with state Departments of Education, Departments of Health and Human Services, Tribal education authorities, regional education associations, community-based organizations, nonprofits, and philanthropic partners • Represent JED in community coalitions, advisory boards, task forces, and public forums • Serve as JED’s regional liaison to AFSP chapters across Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming • Identify and cultivate new leads and partnership opportunities with districts, high schools, and CBOs • Coordinate with JED’s School Partnerships team to convert qualified leads into signed engagements • Track and manage the regional pipeline using Salesforce or other CRM tools • Identify opportunities to align JED’s work with state initiatives and funding streams • Matrix-manage regional Senior Consultants/Consultants delivering the District Mental Health Initiative and other school-based programming • Provide mentorship, coaching, and performance management; monitor caseloads and program milestones • Ensure consistent, high-quality delivery of JED’s Comprehensive Approach to Mental Health Promotion and Suicide Prevention for Districts • Support hiring, onboarding, and scaling of regional consulting capacity • Serve as spokesperson and ambassador for JED’s full program portfolio • Attend and present at regional conferences and convenings • Serve as a thought leader on emotional health promotion and suicide prevention in the Intermountain West • Work with SPC leadership on regional strategy, team culture, and cross-team initiatives • Contribute regional insight to programmatic and consulting materials • Perform other duties as assigned by JED leadership
• Master’s degree in education, educational leadership, counseling, psychology, social work, public health, or related field • Minimum of 7+ years of experience in PK–12 mental health programming, youth-serving nonprofit work, or education leadership, with a focus on suicide prevention preferred • Minimum of 2+ years managing teams, including hiring, coaching, and performance management • Deep knowledge of the Idaho, Montana, and/or Wyoming education and youth mental health landscape, including experience working with frontier, rural, and Tribal communities • Demonstrated track record of building relationships with state agencies, nonprofits, and funders, and identifying new business or partnership opportunities • Excellent communication and presentation skills, including comfort presenting to senior leaders, state officials, and community groups • Experience with Salesforce or other CRM/project management tools • Passion for youth mental health and alignment with JED’s Guiding Principles and Shared Commitment to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Antiracism • Candidates should reside in the Mountain West Region
• Fully remote work arrangement • Regular travel across Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming (approximately 40–50%) • Periodic travel to JED’s NYC headquarters
