📋 Description

• Support emergency preparedness and mutual aid coordination for long-term care facilities in California Region 1 • Support development and implementation of a Long-Term Care Mutual Aid Plan serving approximately 486 skilled nursing facilities • Coordinate with skilled nursing facilities, county and regional emergency management partners, the California Department of Public Health, the California Association of Health Facilities, and other stakeholders • Serve as a primary contact for client engagements and build productive, lasting relationships • Coordinate and facilitate meetings, workshops, training, and exercises with healthcare and emergency response partners • Conduct site visits, facility onboarding and orientation, initial and annual training, drill reporting, and annual full-scale disaster exercises • Document exercises in alignment with HSEEP • Present information clearly to groups with different roles and levels of technical knowledge • Identify business opportunities, support proposals, participate in industry events, and present solutions to prospective clients • Collaborate across disciplines to develop services, professional insights, and client education materials • Keep current with changes in regulations, accreditation standards, and professional practice

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in emergency management, fire protection, fire science, safety, or a related field is preferred; an associate degree with relevant experience will also be considered • Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) or Associate Emergency Manager (AEM) credentials are preferred • Valid driver’s license • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines • Sound judgment and ability to communicate effectively with clients and partners • Experience coordinating or facilitating training and exercises with healthcare and emergency response partners • Interest in growing client relationships and developing business • Communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain information to varied audiences • Ability to organize work, manage time, and adapt to changing priorities • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn new technology platforms • Ability to travel domestically up to 50%; travel within the Region 1 counties may exceed 50% during the first year
