JHU EEHPC is the Energy Efficient High Performance Computing Lab at Johns Hopkins University, led by Tinoosh Mohsenin. The lab focuses on designing medical, health, and wearable devices and developing tiny, energy-efficient wearable and mobile computing systems through cross-layer approaches spanning algorithms, architecture, hardware, and system integration. It applies high-performance computing and artificial intelligence methods to smart health monitoring, robotics, autonomous navigation, and related domains, aiming to revolutionize healthcare, transportation, and public utilities.

📋 Description

• Determine and plan editorial content • Manage publication and distribution of in-house and/or external publications • Edit and produce written materials and manuscripts for technical accuracy, consistency, clarity, and audience appropriateness • Plan layouts, contract with vendors, and review copy • Design layouts and oversee production • Research story ideas and assign or write articles • Plan and manage budgets • Oversee advertising activities • Supervise or oversee related staff • Collaborate with stakeholders on manuals and other communication materials • Perform literature reviews and Internet research • Collaborate with authors on journal article development, editing, and submission • Guide design and desktop publishing staff • Edit manuscripts and journal features using subject matter expertise • Coordinate author changes, copyright releases, mandatory charges, deadlines, and production requirements • Oversee journal administration, including budgets, copy editing, editorial board meetings, advertising, and online editing systems • Establish author guidelines and resource materials and recommend journal formats • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in related field • Three years of related experience • Additional education may substitute for required experience • Additional related experience may substitute for required education beyond a high school diploma/graduation equivalent, subject to the JHU equivalency formula • Ability to understand scientific information, including theory, quantitative and qualitative data, and the preferred structure of scientific journal manuscripts • Intermediate editing skills • Intermediate editorial process skills • Intermediate project management skills • Intermediate proofreading skills • Intermediate report writing skills • Intermediate style guide skills • Intermediate visual design skills • Intermediate writing skills • Successful candidates are subject to a pre-employment background check • Must receive the seasonal flu vaccine, subject to stated exceptions
