📋 Description

• Describe the mediation process, its scope, advantages, rules of engagement, and expected outcomes • Identify and clarify substantive and procedural issues • Understand the scope, intensity, and contentiousness of parties’ issues • Establish a productive, respectful, neutral, and safe atmosphere • Ensure all parties receive equal respect and a meaningful opportunity to be heard • Help parties identify and understand their issues, positions, interests, needs, and concerns • Assist parties in developing options and evaluating alternatives • Help parties recognize workable solutions • Emphasize areas of agreement and clarify offers and counteroffers • Manage complex personal dynamics and prevent manipulation of the mediation process • Maintain confidentiality of mediation proceedings and related information • Draft or assist in drafting language reflecting the parties’ agreements • Consult with the OMN liaison on relevant policy or process questions

🎯 Requirements

• Master’s Degree or Licenciatura, preferably related to Law, Human Resources, Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), or another relevant discipline • Minimum of 15 years as a professional mediator • Minimum of 20 cases completed as a lead or solo mediator • Minimum of 50 hours mediating disputes as a lead or solo mediator • Familiarity with workplace disputes in multilateral organizations is highly desired • Proficiency in English and one of the Bank’s other official languages: Spanish, French, or Portuguese • Citizenship in one of the IDB’s 48 member countries • No family members up to the fourth degree of consanguinity or second degree of affinity, including spouse, working at IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab
