📋 Description

• Plan, develop, and implement wireless, telephone, data, telecommunications, and information technology programs and networks for the state • Provide data and/or voice network services; establish and maintain networks and systems • Perform preventive maintenance, evaluate system performance, respond to malfunctions, and resolve operating problems • Install, test, and modify data, voice, and wireless networks, routers, and communication components • Coordinate and perform system tests; adjust, calibrate, and modify equipment or components • Confer with agency users, other agencies, political subdivisions, technical staff, contractors, and vendors to determine service requirements • Manage and administer the public safety network and ensure security compliance with State and Federal requirements • Research network technologies and recommend technical solutions • Monitor network performance • Cross-train IT staff to create depth in support of IT services • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field and at least four (4) years of Network Operations experience, Or 10+ years of Networking Infrastructure administration and support • HPE Juniper proficiency and expertise preferred • Self-starter, self-motivated, and detail oriented • Server and Security training is a plus • Primary residence must fall within 45 minutes of downtown Dallas, Texas • Must be able to bend, crouch, stoop, sit and/or lift objects weighing 50 pounds or more • Ability to use manual equipment, including dollies and carts • Some extended hours including evenings and weekends may be required • Sponsorship is unavailable now or in the future
