The lab serves healthcare providers and patients with rapid turnaround times, EHR integration, specimen collection support, and consultative services, and offers online ordering and provider portals.

📋 Description

• Provide accurate collection, labeling, handling, and transport of blood and other specimens for laboratory testing • Correctly identify patients using at least two unique identifiers before specimen collection • Verify test requisitions are properly completed • Obtain whole blood, serum, and plasma samples through venipuncture and/or fingerstick • Label samples, tubes, primary tubes, and pour-off tubes with two unique identifiers • Maintain documentation and identification of samples for transport to the laboratory • Follow client facility safety protocols, including PPE, isolation protocols, and hand washing • Maintain daily tallies of collections performed • Inform the Phlebotomy Supervisor of significant changes in collection volumes • Request office and phlebotomy supplies as needed • Promote the professional image of Kashi Clinical Laboratories • Provide coverage for last-minute call-offs and pre-scheduled time off on an as-needed basis

🎯 Requirements

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent • Phlebotomy Certificate (proof of certification required upon hire) • Computer and technology proficient • Must maintain a current driver’s license and clean driving record • Reliable transportation required • Ability to perform venipuncture and/or fingerstick • Ability to perform blood culture collection without contamination • Knowledge of timed, fasting, and random collections • Ability to explain proper collection for urine, stool, sputum, or culture swabs • Compliance with CLIA guidelines, Universal Precautions, OSHA Standards, and HIPAA Regulations • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 20 pounds • Availability for varying schedules including evenings, holidays, and/or extended hours
