📋 Description

• Own the full product lifecycle for data orchestration, from understanding customer problems through technical specifications, prototyping, and delivery. • Shape data-aware orchestration around datasets, lineage, freshness, and data quality. • Deepen integrations with dbt, Fivetran, Airbyte, Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks, Kafka, and the Kestra plugin ecosystem. • Make migrations easier for teams moving from Airflow and similar orchestrators. • Collaborate with the Product Lead and CTO to shape and scope features for each 8-week release cycle. • Make tradeoffs balancing simplicity, technical feasibility, and long-term sustainability. • Coordinate development progress and ensure features are delivered, QA'd, documented, and release-ready. • Continuously improve the product using customer feedback, usage data, and community input.

🎯 Requirements

• Hands-on, startup-minded Product Manager comfortable working without heavy process or structure. • Strong data-domain background, including hands-on experience building or managing data pipelines. • Hands-on knowledge of dbt, Fivetran or Airbyte, and warehouses such as Snowflake, BigQuery, or Databricks. • Practical experience with workflow orchestration using Airflow, Dagster, Prefect, or Kestra. • Clear understanding of scheduling, backfills, retries, and dependencies between datasets. • Excellent communication and clarity in writing, including specifications, product decisions, and public-facing documentation. • Full ownership mentality and ability to iterate quickly based on feedback. • Experience or familiarity with open-source development and comfort writing publicly and discussing product changes in GitHub repositories. • Comfortable working with globally distributed teams across time zones. • Bonus: Past experience as a data engineer or analytics engineer. • Bonus: Experience migrating from Airflow or another orchestrator to a new platform. • Bonus: Experience in a B2B software or open-source company. • Bonus: Exposure to SaaS products, especially self-serve or platform-oriented products. • Bonus: Familiarity with data engineering communities and tool adoption.
