📋 Description

• Serve as staff lead for weekly editorial meetings, including agenda preparation, Zoom hosting, editorial decision processing, reviewer assignment, and coordination with 15+ editors • Coordinate revised manuscript submissions with authors, editors, and reviewers while tracking progress against content pipeline goals • Maintain the pipeline for Accompanying Editorials, including forecasting needs, identifying and inviting authors, sending reminders, and supporting formatting and policy questions • Draft detailed decision letters for revised manuscript invitations and accepted manuscripts with the Associate Managing Editor • Oversee the AJKD Blog, including usage statistics monitoring and promotion strategies • Lead the annual NephMadness educational initiative and coordinate content, resources, social media, podcasts, TourneyTopia, and the accompanying CME program • Manage the Editorial Internship Program, including recruitment, onboarding, scheduling, mentoring, and program content • Plan and schedule biannual Core Curriculum planning calls, including metrics updates, invitation tracking, and topic voting • Collaborate with NKF’s Marketing and Communications team to promote journal content through weekly newsletters • Order promotional items, service subscriptions, and reproduction permissions • Support special projects such as supplements, visual abstract edits, and vacation coverage • Perform additional duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with 3–5 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience • Prior experience in STM publishing preferred • Familiarity with peer-review systems; Editorial Manager preferred • Understanding of AMA style and scholarly publishing ethics • Excellent written and verbal communication • Strong project management and problem-solving skills • High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Box Drive, and Google Drive • Ability to work independently and manage complex workflows with accuracy and discretion • Comfort with remote work and digital collaboration tools
