📋 Description

• Determine appropriate accounting treatment for grant awards and funding agreements • Monitor grant funding, expenditures, reimbursements, and related activity for accurate recording in the general ledger and supporting sub-ledgers • Prepare detailed grant funding reports, journal entries, and supporting documentation • Respond to financial and compliance audit requests • Analyze financial statement variances and investigate significant or unusual activity • Reconcile complex balance sheet accounts and investigate and resolve discrepancies • Perform internal control activities and monitor compliance with accounting and grant requirements • Identify, document, and remediate control deficiencies • Review and update accounting policies and procedures • Develop, document, implement, and execute new accounting processes and procedures as needed

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field • 4+ years of corporate or public accounting experience • Knowledge of U.S. GAAP and internal controls • Experience researching and applying accounting guidance to complex transactions • Experience analyzing financial statements, account reconciliations, journal entries, and variances • Ability to identify accounting and compliance risks and develop practical solutions • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP
