📋 Description

• Lead architectural direction for an assigned business or technology domain or shared enterprise capability • Translate business strategy into target-state architectures and actionable technology roadmaps • Partner with business, product, engineering, data, and security leaders • Guide cross-platform decisions and reusable architectural patterns • Support engineering teams with implementation and adoption • Balance business value, security, reliability, scalability, and cost • Influence enterprise architecture and technology roadmaps • Assess emerging technologies and platform options for Kohl’s initiatives • Lead architecture for Business, Foundational, and Platform initiatives across applications, integrations, and teams • Guide solution design and implementation across complex enterprise environments • Develop current-state and target-state architectures and modernization roadmaps • Provide architectural expertise, influence stakeholders, and resolve tradeoffs • Contribute to architectural and technical standards and reference patterns • Conduct architecture reviews and provide implementation guidance • Promote architectural practices through collaboration, knowledge sharing, and mentoring • Drive digital-channel architecture for kohls.com and native iOS and Android applications • Guide marketing technology architecture for personalized engagement, content delivery, and measurement • Lead integrations across mobile, web, marketing, and enterprise platforms • Incorporate customer consent and privacy requirements • Establish system boundaries and key planning assumptions • Architect CMS/DAM, CDP, personalization, experimentation, analytics, and digital discoverability systems • Design cloud-native, customer-facing platforms, event-driven architectures, and containerized services • Address AI-enabled commerce, agentic commerce, conversational experiences, and agent-interaction technologies

🎯 Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in a technology-related field, including prior lead experience • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in MIS, Computer Science or related field • Advanced knowledge of systems design and experience architecting and implementing large-scale enterprise systems • Strong organizational, analytical, critical thinking and leadership skills • Ability to translate business priorities into target-state architectures, technology roadmaps, and actionable recommendations • Ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders without direct authority, resolve architectural tradeoffs, and communicate complex technical decisions to business and executive audiences • Preferred: Advanced degree or equivalent in MIS, Computer Science or related field • Preferred: Understanding of Kohl’s Technology capabilities • Preferred: Experience modernizing complex application ecosystems, including platform consolidation, incremental migration, and reduction of technical debt • Ability to comply with dress code requirements • Basic math and reading skills, legible handwriting, and basic computer operation • Ability to maintain prompt and regular attendance and meet scheduling requirements • Ability to learn and comply with company policies, procedures, standards and guidelines • Ability to give and receive direction from leadership and company personnel • Ability to work as part of a team and interact effectively and appropriately with others • Ability to maintain composure and work in a fast-paced environment while accomplishing multiple tasks within established timeframes • Ability to satisfactorily complete company training programs • Ability to use a personal computer for communication and report preparation • Ability to plan, prioritize and monitor activities across business units • Ability to complete or oversee assigned projects in a timely manner
