📋 Description

• Support KDS and its government customer • Provide operations and maintenance for the Cotton and Tobacco Branch's Cotton and Tobacco Electronic Reporting System (CERS) • Serve as technical lead for the HP NonStop Integrity environment • Provide COBOL programming services to sustain uninterrupted operations of the Cotton Classing Programs • Collaborate with leadership on short- and long-range IT strategies, system enhancements, and process improvements • Gather and analyze customer requirements to create IT development and delivery plans • Lead HP NonStop programming efforts • Administer system installations, security, technical support, and storage solutions across 10 geographic locations • Prepare, test, and implement programs; evaluate results; and apply corrective actions • Train and mentor ITD staff and end-users • Respond to CERS helpdesk questions and user inquiries • Diagnose and resolve production application bugs and defects • Perform daily system checks, audits, and backups • Implement urgent regulatory or operational changes • Ensure compatibility with Agency IT standards and third-party integrations • Coordinate with domestic gins, mills, merchants, and federal agencies to deliver reliable services

🎯 Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in each of the listed areas • Deep expertise in COBOL and Screen COBOL • Experience with HP NonStop Integrity environment • Experience with COBOL85, SCOBOL, TAL, and NonStop SQL database design • Experience administering system installations, managing security, providing technical support, and overseeing storage solutions across 10 geographic locations • Experience preparing, testing, and implementing programs; evaluating results; and applying corrective actions • Experience training and mentoring ITD staff and end-users • Experience responding to helpdesk questions and user inquiries related to CERS • Experience diagnosing and resolving bugs and defects in core production applications • Experience performing system checks, audits, and backups • Experience implementing urgent changes for regulatory or operational requirements • Experience ensuring compatibility with Agency IT standards and third-party integrations • Experience coordinating with domestic gins, mills, merchants, and federal agencies
