📋 Description

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria • Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures • Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality • Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving • Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls • Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care • Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures • Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary • Assist with processing specimens when needed • Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology • 4 years or more of clinical laboratory testing experience • Non-traditional degrees with applicable science credits meeting CLIA standards may satisfy education requirements in lieu of the listed education • Understanding of laboratory operations, policies and procedures • Experience working in a high volume laboratory environment • Ability to work independently and within a team environment • Proficient with computers and familiar with laboratory information systems • High level of attention to detail with strong communication and organizational skills • Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position • Able to pass a standardized color blindness test • Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs • Dedicated, non-shared home office space meeting HIPAA compliance • Agree to have home address added to reports of cases analyzed or reported, as required by CMS • Wired or wireless internet with a minimum speed of 100 mb/sec • Ability to work effectively remotely in a fast-paced, multi-site environment while juggling competing priorities and demands • Preferred: NCA certification in Cytogenetics (CLSp-CG) • Preferred: ASCP or AMT certification
