📋 Description

• Handle on-demand telephone interpreting sessions • Render the meaning of conversations between Chaldean and English speakers • Serve clients across healthcare, government, insurance, finance, utilities, travel and hospitality, general business, law enforcement, court, and 911 industries • Respond promptly and conduct interpretation in a friendly, professional manner • Render accurate concepts and meanings according to interpretation protocols • Speak clearly in both languages with proper pronunciation and enunciation • Maintain a professional demeanor during interpreting sessions • Remain calm during difficult or emergency calls, including 911 calls • Maintain punctuality and availability during work hours • Follow client instructions and interpretation protocols • Use appropriate terminology and understand procedures across multiple industries • Demonstrate cultural sensitivity in a diverse environment

🎯 Requirements

• Fluency in Chaldean and English and skilled in the associated cultural dynamics • Ability to provide cultural competency and assess regional and accent differences • Excellent listening, retention, and note-taking skills • Ability to remain neutral and objective during sensitive conversations • Ability to adapt to LanguageLine Solutions technology enhancements • Must be at least 18 years of age • Legally authorized to work in the United States • Must have work authorization that does not now or in the future require visa sponsorship • High school diploma or equivalent • Ability to read and write the requested languages highly preferred • Dedicated personal device for business purposes • Desktop/laptop with Windows, MacOS, or ChromeOS, or acceptable tablet/smartphone • High-speed internet with at least 5 Mbps download, 3 Mbps upload, ping no more than 300 ms, and jitter no more than 30 ms • Access to a quiet space free from background noise or distraction • Ability to operate a keyboard, mouse, company software, and systems • Sufficient manual dexterity to type or write • Ability to lift up to 26 lbs • Background check and/or drug screen may be required based on location
