📋 Description

• Handle calls on demand and render the meaning of conversations between Ewe and English speakers • Interpret verbally across healthcare, government, insurance, financial, utilities, travel and hospitality, general business, law enforcement, court, and 911 industries • Process information quickly and concisely while recognizing sensitive cultural differences • Use appropriate terminology and understand common industry procedures and practices • Respond promptly to interpreting sessions in a friendly and professional manner • Render correct concepts and meanings according to established interpretation protocol, avoiding omissions or additions • Speak clearly in both languages using proper pronunciation, enunciation, and polite expressions • Maintain a professional demeanor and remain calm during sensitive or emergency calls • Maintain punctuality and availability during work hours • Follow client instructions and interpretation protocol • Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and work in a diverse environment

🎯 Requirements

• Fluency in Ewe and English and skill in associated cultural dynamics • Ability to provide cultural competency and assess regional and accent differences • Excellent listening, retention, and note-taking skills • Ability to remain neutral, objective, detached, and focused during sensitive calls • Ability to adapt to LanguageLine Solutions technology enhancements • Must be at least 18 years of age • Legally authorized to work in the United States • US work authorization must not now or in the future require visa sponsorship • High school diploma or equivalent • Ability to read and write the requested languages highly preferred • Dedicated personal device for business purposes • Desktop/laptop computer with Windows, MacOS, or ChromeOS, or an acceptable tablet or smartphone • No Kaspersky products or Huawei hardware • High-speed internet with at least 5 Mbps download, 3 Mbps upload, ping no more than 300 ms, and jitter no more than 30 ms • Access to a quiet space free from background noise or distraction • Ability to operate a keyboard and mouse and remain stationary before a computer most of the workday • Ability to operate company-provided software and systems • Sufficient manual dexterity to type or write • Ability to lift up to 26 lbs • Post-offer, pre-employment background check and/or drug screen may be required based on location
