📋 Description

• Design and implement big data systems, ETL pipelines, and Data Lakes/Lakehouse/Meshes • Design and implement schemas and ontologies • Design and implement a data foundation supporting generative AI applications, including RAG, and business analytics • Design and implement row/cell-level data access control • Develop software hands-on using Python and/or JavaScript for data integration and application functionality • Document data definitions and designs • Define the data foundation’s tools, schemas, and ontologies so software engineers can implement it and management can understand its capabilities

🎯 Requirements

• U.S. citizenship • Ability to obtain a Top Secret security clearance in DISS • Bachelor’s degree with 8+ or 12+ years of experience in a Science, Engineering, or Technology field, or a Master’s degree with 6+ or 10+ years of experience in a Science, Engineering, or Technology field • Additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree • 5+ years of experience designing and developing systems to analyze structured and unstructured large data sets from disparate sources, including ETL processes • 5+ years of experience with AI application principles, including RAG, prompt and context engineering, and AI workflow orchestration and design • Experience with AI agent configuration, management, and integration into automated workflows • Ability to develop tools, algorithms, and queries to improve business performance • Ability to develop technical solutions using hands-on Python or JavaScript development and Python-based services • Ability to develop intelligent systems that analyze data, learn from patterns, predict outcomes, and make informed decisions autonomously • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including communicating data engineering and architectural concepts to non-technical audiences • Experience working directly with product owners, including product ownership or product architecture experience • Preferred: Experience integrating and/or operating Dagster, PostgresSQL, Alembic, and pgvector • Preferred: Experience with digital Engineering (SysML) • Preferred: Experience with generative AI applications, including RAG, embeddings, and vector search • Preferred: Experience with operational support to data foundation and DevOps • Preferred: Familiarity with Medallion style architecture • Preferred: Current Secret clearance in DISS
