📋 Description

• Perform design reviews of civil/structural design components for substation bid and construction packages • Lead substation engineering projects as a senior engineer • Develop junior staff members • Perform and review substation structure, rigid bus, foundation, oil spill containment, retaining wall, control shelter, and firewall designs • Participate in site visits to client substation facilities • Travel occasionally for client meetings and industry-related events • Work as a senior member of a design team comprising engineers, designers, and drafting technicians • Maintain quality control, safe work practices, and compliance with project scope, schedule, and budget

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelors of Science (BS) degree in Civil-Structural Engineering and 5+ years of relevant experience, or Masters (MS) with 3+ years of relevant experience • PE License preferred in California, Washington, Oregon, or ability to obtain licensure in these states within 3-12 months • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MATHCAD software • Experience with RISA 3D or/and STAAD.Pro, SAG10, FAD or/and LPile software • Familiarity with AutoCAD and MicroStation • Strong analytical and technical writing skills • Ability to communicate with clients and staff • Experience with structural design engineering and review • Experience in electric utility industry strongly preferred • Knowledge of steel structures, concrete structures, geotechnical engineering, and foundations • Experience with substation structure design, rigid bus design, foundation design, oil spill containment design, retaining walls, concrete and masonry control shelters, and firewalls preferred • Experience with structures and foundations under seismic loading conditions preferred • Compliance with quality control and safe work practices • Ability to maintain project scope, schedule, and budget expectations
