• Manage a collaborative team working on electric transmission challenges • Serve as Supervisor and Engineering Lead on high-voltage overhead and underground electric transmission-line design projects • Apply NESC, ASCE, ACI, NEC, and other applicable standards to projects from 34.5 kV to 765 kV • Perform engineering analyses independently and assist the team • Prepare bidding documents, plans, specifications, material procurement documents, and construction documents • Collaborate with project planning, environmental, permitting, and construction management teams • Develop an engineering team with direct-report responsibilities • Manage client relations, proposal development, scope creation, and project management • Apply AI, automation, and digital design platforms to streamline grid modernization and improve design efficiency • Convey expectations, goals, and vision • Manage direct-report performance • Motivate, coach, mentor, and delegate project work • Manage collaboration and conflict resolution • Support diversity and inclusion • Monitor project performance metrics and identify risks and value opportunities
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, or preferred Mechanical Engineering, with 12+ years of relevant experience in high-voltage electric utility transmission-system design • Professional Engineering Registration in at least one U.S. state or equivalent • Experience with PLS-CADD, POLE, TOWER, SAG10, LPILE and/or FAD • Experience with Microsoft Office suite • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently • Five plus (5+) years of supervising staff preferred • M.S. degree in Structural Engineering preferred • Track record of outstanding communication to serve as primary point of contact for existing and prospective clients preferred • Business acumen with a record of understanding and meeting key project performance metrics preferred • Some periodic travel may be required • Ability and passion to develop staff through mentoring preferred
