📋 Description

• Own backend and operational systems supporting Clever’s growth • Define requirements for APIs, integrations, data flows, internal tools, and workflow automation with senior engineers • Translate business and operational problems into specifications, MVPs, tradeoffs, and measurable outcomes • Improve partner APIs, lead validation, normalization, deduplication, routing, error handling, and integration health • Identify opportunities to reduce manual work, improve data quality, automate workflows, and build reliable systems • Improve visibility into system health, failures, edge cases, and operational bottlenecks • Define success metrics and instrumentation to verify system performance • Use AI tools to accelerate research, discovery, documentation, prototyping, analysis, and execution • Collaborate with Operations and business stakeholders to understand workflow issues and design scalable solutions • Report to Product leadership and partner cross-functionally across the organization

🎯 Requirements

• Experience owning backend and operational systems that support business growth • Ability to partner with senior engineers on APIs, integrations, data flows, internal tools, and workflow automation • Ability to translate ambiguous business and operational problems into clear specifications, MVPs, tradeoffs, and measurable outcomes • Experience with partner APIs, lead validation, normalization, deduplication, routing, error handling, and integration health • Ability to improve data quality, automate workflows, and build reliable systems • Ability to define success metrics and instrumentation • Active use of AI tools for research, discovery, documentation, prototyping, analysis, and execution • Comfort discussing APIs, data flows, and system tradeoffs • Experience with underlying systems and operations rather than only feature-surface work
