• Manage and lead the Plan Document Coordinators • Provide expertise in benefit interpretation and recommend benefit designs to mitigate risk • Partner with the Associate Director of Plan Building to ensure plan documents and plan building meet client needs and support automated claim adjudication • Manage employee workflow, production, and quality of plan documents • Support staff development, new client implementation, and existing client retention • Plan, direct, and coordinate staff assignments and monitor work performance • Set goals and objectives, approve tactical steps, and ensure timelines are met • Facilitate weekly meetings and assess team progress • Provide enterprise-wide expertise and liaise with Compliance • Maintain communication channels, communicate status, and escalate issues • Handle mentoring, coaching, motivation, performance management, feedback, recognition, evaluations, and time tracking for direct reports • Set and communicate department goals and staff expectations • Assess training and development needs and provide improvement opportunities • Support day-to-day operations when workload exceeds team capacity • Create and maintain accurate plan document team documentation in a shared repository • Participate in cross-functional teams and special projects • Perform other duties as assigned
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the healthcare/benefits industry • Minimum of 1 year previous management experience • Advanced knowledge of regulatory requirements applicable to the enterprise • Knowledge and application of English grammar, composition, editing, and proofreading • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, handle pressure, and make informed decisions • Ability to analyze situations objectively, develop creative solutions, and take initiative • Ability to work effectively with differing levels of co-workers and senior leadership • Experience in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment • Ability to investigate and problem solve • Ability to provide exemplary service to internal and external customers • Proficiency in MS Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook • Strong communication skills and ability to facilitate meetings • Independent issue resolution skills • Advanced critical thinking skills • Cross-functional collaboration experience with legal/compliance, operations, and client management • Experience drafting, editing, and maintaining standard and customized plan language independently • Ability to travel to regional field offices • College degree or advanced insurance-industry education (CEBS, HIAA, or LOMA) preferred • Knowledge of Luminare Health systems preferred • Experience reading contracts, statutes, and regulations preferred • Strong command of plan design terminology and document structures preferred • Experience drafting department policies and procedures preferred • Must live within the continental United States, excluding Alaska, California, Hawaii, and New York • Sponsorship is not available
