📋 Description

• Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the Finance Department • Provide leadership, direction, and performance management for finance staff • Establish departmental priorities, standardized processes, expectations, and accountability measures • Direct accounting operations, including general ledger, financial reporting, month-end and year-end close, reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll accounting, and other core functions • Develop, implement, and maintain GAAP-compliant accounting policies, procedures, and documentation • Prepare and review financial statements, management reports, and analyses • Support annual budgeting and financial forecasting, including budget models, submissions, and variance analysis • Monitor organizational cash flow, liquidity, and cash needs • Manage grant accounting, including restricted fund tracking, billing, reporting, reimbursements, and compliance • Support banking relationships, treasury activities, and financial management responsibilities • Coordinate annual financial statement audit activities and auditor requests • Assist with tax filings and required financial reporting • Maintain and strengthen internal controls, accounting procedures, and financial policies • Identify financial risks and recommend corrective actions • Implement financial systems, reporting, workflow, and cross-functional process improvements • Collaborate with Operations and IT on financial system enhancements and integrations • Maintain organized financial records, documentation, and shared resources • Partner with department leaders and senior leadership on budgeting, financial planning, and decision-making • Build relationships with auditors, financial institutions, vendors, funding partners, and other stakeholders • Communicate financial information to financial and nonfinancial audiences • Escalate significant financial, operational, compliance, and risk-related matters to the Chief Financial & Operations Officer

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a closely related field • Minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in accounting, finance, or financial management • At least three (3) years in a leadership or supervisory role • Experience leading month-end and year-end close, financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow management, and internal controls • Experience leading financial systems implementations, reporting enhancements, or process improvement initiatives • Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) • Experience coordinating financial statement audits • Understanding of nonprofit and/or governmental accounting, fund accounting, grant management, financial reporting, and compliance • Experience managing grant-funded programs, including reporting, billing, compliance, and reimbursements • Experience supporting procurement and contract management processes • Experience with budgeting, financial planning, cash flow forecasting, treasury activities, and financial analysis • Ability to evaluate financial operations and implement improvements • Ability to lead, organize, prioritize, and manage information effectively • Excellent analytical, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills • Excellent time management and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines • Strategic thinking about systems, operations, processes, and workflows • Ability to learn and use new software, technology, and financial systems • CPA, CMA, or other relevant professional certification is nice to have • Project management experience is nice to have • Previous experience with Sage, Salesforce, Asana, or comparable software is nice to have
