📋 Description

• Partner with product, design, data, and operations colleagues across every stage of product development • Envision and build new capabilities that help nonprofit partners arrange emergency housing • Develop tools that expand a global supply of free or discounted housing and support donation efforts • Work with engineering and data teammates to break longer-term projects into clear, deliverable milestones • Use data insights and research to identify opportunities for improvement and advocate for them • Ramp up quickly in large, unfamiliar codebases to deliver program-specific features within an established product ecosystem • Adapt quickly as responsibilities evolve in response to emerging global needs

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience • Proven experience designing, implementing, and deploying long-term initiatives in collaboration with cross-functional partners • Strong full-stack development experience, ideally with React and TypeScript on the front end and Java or Kotlin on the back end • Solid understanding of engineering best practices, continuous integration, and incremental delivery • Expertise in designing and scaling APIs and the services behind them • Comfort using data insights and user research to make the case for product improvements • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship • Familiarity with GraphQL • Fluency in HTML, CSS, and related web technologies • Strong design and user experience sensibilities • Demonstrated interest in social impact or mission-driven work
