📋 Description

• Design and deliver scalable software solutions for batch and event-driven processing of card network settlement and transaction data • Own and deliver projects supporting quarterly team goals • Identify solutions to ambiguous, open-ended problems independently • Develop, manage, and maintain card network transactions at scale • Create digital wallet tokens via Apple Pay and Google Pay • Build backend experiences for internal and external customers • Manage chargebacks and disputes with card networks • Facilitate money transfers via ACH and ATM networks • Apply APRs and fees to credit customers • Build a 3DS Access Control System • Improve delivery of backend software from ideation to production • Potentially focus on DevOps and infrastructure engineering, including cloud scaling, resilience, and global availability • Architect, design, and develop large, complex projects • Collaborate with engineers to prioritize and ship features • Partner with Product Managers to scope and estimate work • Participate in on-call coverage

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in software or data engineering • Comfortable driving outcomes with limited direction • Strong passion for high-quality code and test coverage • Experience developing in Java and/or Python • Experience designing, building, and scaling batch and streaming/event-driven data pipelines • Experience with Apache Spark or distributed query engines such as Athena, Trino, or Presto • Hands-on experience implementing data lake solutions using Iceberg or Delta Lake • Experience ensuring data reliability, schema integrity, and distributed query-engine integration • Experience making technical trade-offs and navigating technical complexities • Experience mentoring other Engineers • Ability to identify root causes of production issues and implement improvements • Experience working productively on cross-functional teams • Experience with payments or FinTech space preferred • Experience with microservices preferred • Experience with Java Spring Boot preferred • Experience with Airflow preferred • Production experience with modern engineering and cloud tools preferred • Experience with CI/CD, Kubernetes, and/or Docker preferred • Contributions to technical blogs, public GitHub repositories, or open-source projects preferred
