📋 Description

• Execute implementation of the infection prevention program in hospital, central, and ambulatory care settings • Educate patients and healthcare providers on disease transmission, prevention, and interventions • Consult with leadership and ambulatory/hospital staff • Monitor healthcare practices that place patients and healthcare providers at risk • Conduct surveillance of healthcare-associated infections through chart abstraction and standardized criteria • Submit infection data to the State of Texas, CMS, NHSN, and monthly operating reports • Communicate findings and recommendations to healthcare providers, hospital leadership, and key stakeholders • Support infection prevention improvement projects across the continuum of care • Coordinate infection prevention activities with physicians, department directors, and clinical and non-clinical staff • Coordinate exposure follow-up for patients and healthcare workers • Participate in process improvement initiatives, accreditation and licensure readiness activities, surveys, and high-reliability practices • Promote patient safety and ensure compliance with Memorial Hermann policies and standards • Support department goals and serve as a preceptor, mentor, and resource to less experienced staff • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in nursing, public health, or related field • CIC certification preferred • Two (2) years clinical/healthcare experience preferred • Working knowledge of statistics, microbiology, patient care practices, epidemiology, and occupational health preferred • Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills • Team facilitation skills preferable • Proficient with Microsoft Office
