📋 Description

• Oversee daily Coding Department operations by monitoring workload and partner productivity to achieve weekly and monthly goals • Develop guidelines, policies, and procedures while maintaining compliance with governmental regulations and contractual reporting obligations • Coordinate coding and quality audits and report infractions to the direct supervisor • Manage the daily charge capture process to ensure timely and accurate claim submission • Provide information to providers and pertinent partners regarding missing or inaccurate charges • Coordinate projects with all Revenue Cycle entities • Serve as a resource for clinical departments on correct reporting to third-party payers and regulatory compliance • Train and develop new and current partners • Ensure retention of effective and budgeted FTEs • Assess and address performance issues through coaching, feedback, and corrective action • Perform HR duties including hiring, termination, payroll, and performance management • Liaise between Coding and Information Systems Departments on compliance updates and functionality optimization • Interview, hire, train, plan, assign, direct, appraise, reward, and discipline partners • Address complaints and resolve problems • Ensure partner adherence to annual education and certification requirements • Directly supervise partners in the Coding Department

🎯 Requirements

• High School graduate or equivalent • Associates degree in a directly related field or at least 8 years’ experience in provider coding or billing required • Minimum 3 years recent supervisory experience and 3-5 years recent related work • Experience in a multi-specialty medical practice • Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or other equivalent coding certification required • Passing the Driver’s License Check and/or Credit Check (for those positions requiring) • Passing the WI Caregiver Background Check and/or IL Health Care Workers Background Check • Must be able to follow written/oral instructions • Ability to talk and hear; identify numbers, folders, colors, and computer printouts; communicate one-on-one and over the telephone • Manual dexterity to operate keyboards, mouse and telephones • Ability to sit for prolonged periods and occasionally stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
