📋 Description

• Research, interpret, and apply accounting standards including ASC 606, ASC 842, ASC 805, ASC 718, debt and equity instruments, consolidation, and impairment • Evaluate and document accounting treatment for digital asset and crypto-related transactions, including holdings, token issuances, staking, and blockchain-native arrangements under ASC 350-60 • Draft technical accounting memos and position papers for complex or judgmental transactions, new products, M&A activity, financing arrangements, and non-routine events • Monitor FASB, SEC, and PCAOB guidance, assess company impact, and lead implementation of new standards • Draft accounting policies and coordinate cross-functional rollout • Serve as primary liaison with external auditors and resolve complex technical accounting issues • Partner with Legal, Treasury, Revenue, FP&A, and business leaders on accounting implications of contracts, deal structures, and strategic initiatives • Support M&A activity, including purchase accounting, due diligence, and post-acquisition integration • Maintain and update the accounting policy manual • Assess internal controls and partner with Internal Controls/SOX teams on control design and operation • Present technical accounting matters to senior leadership and the Audit Committee as needed • Partner with the Chief Accounting Officer and engage with industry working groups, standard-setters, and peer companies • Mentor and develop accounting staff • Assist with SEC 10-K and 10-Q disclosures related to technical accounting areas

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field • CPA license (active and in good standing) • 12+ years of progressive accounting experience, including significant experience in public accounting (Big 4 or national firm) and/or a technical accounting role in industry • Deep, current knowledge of U.S. GAAP with demonstrated experience researching and documenting complex technical accounting positions • Strong understanding of SEC reporting requirements for public companies or equivalent stakeholder reporting needs • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to translate complex accounting concepts for non-accounting audiences • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities independently in a fast-paced environment • Applicants may be required to submit to employment, education, criminal record, identity, and other background verification checks • Preferred: Experience with digital assets/cryptocurrency accounting, including ASC 350-60, token economics, DeFi, staking, and blockchain-native transaction structures • Preferred: Public company experience and direct interaction with external auditors • Preferred: M&A transaction accounting and purchase accounting experience • Preferred: System implementation experience affecting accounting processes, such as ERP or revenue systems • Preferred: Prior people-management or mentorship experience • Preferred: Blockchain, Web3, or fintech industry experience
