📋 Description

• Administer Microsoft SQL Server databases in both Windows and Linux environments supporting NPIRS production and development systems • Monitor SQL Server health, performance, storage utilization, and database availability across multiple platforms • Perform routine server monitoring and daily operational health checks • Develop, schedule, monitor, and troubleshoot SQL Server Agent jobs, automated database processes, alerts, Database Mail notifications, and scheduled operational workflows • Execute scheduled SQL Server maintenance activities, including weekly server patching and maintenance windows • Troubleshoot SQL Server performance issues, database connectivity problems, and production incidents • Maintain database security, permissions, access controls, and ensure compliance with organizational standards • Support disaster recovery readiness, high availability solutions, and coordinate infrastructure upgrades • Manage Linux-based database systems including shell scripting and system administration • Design, develop, test, and maintain complex SQL queries, stored procedures, views, functions, and reusable database components • Develop and optimize advanced SQL solutions utilizing Microsoft SQL Server and IBM DB2 healthcare data sources • Develop cross-platform SQL solutions integrating SQL Server reporting environments with DB2 databases • Translate complex healthcare reporting requirements and legacy report logic into validated SQL business rules, including exception handling, reconciliation, and data-quality controls • Optimize SQL code for performance and scalability across multiple database platforms • Create validation scripts and resolve database-related defects • Implement data models and database structures according to best practices • Design, develop, modify, validate, and maintain SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) reports • Lead modernization efforts by converting SAP Crystal Reports to SSRS while maintaining functionality • Translate legacy Crystal Reports business logic into validated SSRS solutions while preserving business rules and report functionality • Interpret healthcare reporting requirements and convert them into validated SQL datasets, report parameters, reconciliation logic, exception processing, and data-quality controls • Develop and maintain standardized reporting templates • Perform report validation, peer reviews, and maintain SDLC documentation • Develop, maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize SSIS packages supporting enterprise reporting and healthcare data integration • Support automated processing, scheduled data loads, ETL workflows, and validation • Support data integration initiatives across multiple systems and platforms • Perform database migrations and conversions between platforms with minimal downtime • Migrate databases and reports between different environments • Support cloud database platform initiatives • Ensure data integrity throughout migration processes • Provide production support for NPIRS operational systems • Monitor production database jobs, reporting services, SQL Server Agent jobs, and automated workflows • Perform proactive morning operational monitoring and respond to infrastructure incidents • Support production deployments, server patching, and operational documentation • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement technical solutions

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field • Minimum 10 years of experience with SQL database development and administration • Advanced SQL programming skills with demonstrated experience optimizing complex queries • Strong Linux administration experience, including shell scripting and system management • Proven experience migrating databases and reports between different platforms • Demonstrated experience with Linux environments hosting database systems • Proven track record of successful database migration projects • Strong experience with both Crystal Reports and SSRS development • Healthcare data experience preferred • Experience with federal healthcare compliance requirements preferred • Microsoft SQL Server Administration (Windows and Linux) • IBM DB2 and cross-platform SQL development • Advanced T-SQL programming • SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) • SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) • SQL Server Agent and Database Mail • SAP Crystal Reports • Healthcare reporting methodologies and data models • Business-rule translation and validation • Database performance tuning and optimization • Windows Server and Linux administration • Production support methodologies • Database security implementation and best practices • Knowledge of high availability and disaster recovery solutions • ETL processes and data integration • Data modeling techniques • Familiarity with cloud database platforms (Azure preferred)
