📋 Description

• Lead and support the transition of legacy front-end codebases, such as Backbone.js, to modern React architectures • Design, build, and maintain responsive, reusable, and customizable UI components for desktop and mobile environments • Integrate backend services into interactive client-server applications using React hooks, state management, and RESTful microservices • Build and test web applications for Section 508 and WCAG 2.0 Level AA accessibility compliance • Implement test-driven development workflows by writing unit, integration, and regression tests • Collaborate remotely with Product Management, Design, and Backend Engineering teams using Agile tools and practices, Git, Jira, Slack, and pair programming • Modernize and maintain critical, client-facing federal applications, including patient-facing websites for the Department of Veterans Affairs • Ensure high standards for performance, security, and accessibility compliance

🎯 Requirements

• 1–3 years of professional experience in front-end software development with a focus on React.js • Strong proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3/SCSS, JSON, and Bootstrap or similar UI frameworks • Solid understanding of React fundamentals, including hooks, component lifecycle, and state management strategies • Experience with unit testing frameworks such as Jest and React Testing Library • Experience with version control using Git • Experience with unit, integration, and regression testing • Knowledge of Section 508 and WCAG 2.0 Level AA accessibility standards • Experience with RESTful microservices and backend integration • Experience working with Agile tools and practices • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer • Must live inside the United States • Must be on EST or CST
