📋 Description

• Review and evaluate client files to verify compliance with the National Organic Standards • Conduct annual and additional certification reviews for MOSA clients using National Organic Standards, MOSA policy, and other appropriate resources • Document review work and sign and issue certification documents • Enforce compliance with MOSA and NOP requirements • Prioritize reviews for timely completion • Assess fees according to MOSA fee schedules • Provide customer service to clients and staff and respond to certification inquiries • Participate in peer review of client letters and certification documents • Evaluate materials for organic production or handling and product labels for compliance • Review residue test result files affected by NOP variances and surveillance activities • Perform additional verification and/or certifications offered by MOSA • Contribute to development of MOSA's certification program, systems, documents, databases, and public comments • Complete a minimum of 15 hours of continuing education annually • Maintain understanding of MOSA policies, procedures, mission, vision, and values • Maintain familiarity with current issues affecting the organic industry • Attend meetings, conferences, and training and represent MOSA at industry events as needed • Undertake other assigned tasks from Certification Team Leaders or Certification Services Director • Optional inspection duties: conduct on-site, unannounced, surveillance, residue sample, and peer evaluation inspections

🎯 Requirements

• Minimum of 2,000 hours of experience/education in agriculture, food processing/manufacturing, and/or organic industry experience • Bachelor's Degree in applicable field preferred • Familiarity with regulatory compliance • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with a diverse client demographic • Strong verbal and written communication skills • Ability to work independently and collaboratively • Ability to develop a work plan and perform in a team environment • Ability to produce high-quality, detailed work while meeting deadlines • Excellent reading comprehension and problem-solving skills • Organizational, time management, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills • Proficient with Google Suite, word processing, databases, and Internet research • Ability to spend long periods of time working on a computer • Inspection duties are optional: ability to traverse uneven terrain, valid driver's license, ability to travel independently, ability to work outdoors and around livestock, occasional travel, and ability to transport equipment up to 30 pounds
