📋 Description

• Assign ICD-10-CM and/or CPT codes for outpatient referrals, recurring or therapy services, and non-interventional radiology • Perform primary care clinic coding and/or coding for a single specialty • Code procedures and diagnoses according to Official Coding Guidelines, CMS guidelines, and Mosaic compliance standards • Participate in workshops, conferences, and in-services for professional development • Communicate with providers and query them to ensure maximum documentation specificity • Work with Patient Financial Services to verify and modify charges and coding for accurate documentation and payer compliance • Respond to edits to ensure State HIDI data accuracy • Perform other assigned duties

• Input and retrieve data • Speaking clearly • Precise hand/eye coordination • Fine motor skills and good writing skills • Detailed knowledge of medical terminology, pathophysiology, and coding guidelines • Must be courteous and work professionally with internal and external customers • Ability to work with interruptions and flexibility in hours and workflow • Ability to foster teamwork and promote service and quality • Ability to interpret data from charts and analyze encoder instructions • Ability to understand physician documentation • Ability to concentrate for long periods • Ability to visualize and interpret patient records • High school diploma; Medical Terminology and Anatomy and Physiology required in the absence of a coding license/certification • Coding education required • One year of Health Information Services department experience performing work requiring detail and familiarity with patient medical records preferred • One of the following coding credentials required within 180 days: CCS, RHIA, RHIT, CPC, CCS-P, COC, or CCA • Travel to off-site locations may be required • Candidates must reside in Alabama, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, Nebraska, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Texas, Utah, or Virginia
