📋 Description

• Code and abstract medical records according to established guidelines • Perform limited analysis, including validation that appropriate documentation substantiates coding • Use HIM software including Solventum (formerly 3M) 360 Encompass, EPIC, CloudMed, Iodine, and SmarterDx • Code and abstract to the highest level of specificity • Apply AHA Coding guidelines for ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS • Maintain a quarterly accuracy rate of 95% or higher • Perform follow-up within the timeframe set by the Coding Manager • Follow escalation policy to ensure timely billing • Perform physician queries as needed • Complete annual department/hospital competency requirements in NetLearning • Attend staff meetings and education sessions • Maintain accreditations • Perform other related duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• High School Required • 4-6 years / 3-5 years of experience required • Strong applied knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS coding, MS-DRG, APR-DRG, and ROM/SOI assignment and logic • Medical terminology and knowledge of anatomy and physiology required • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel required • AHIMA Certified Coding Specialist required upon hire or AAPC Certified Professional Biller required upon hire • Associate Degree preferred • RHIT preferred or RHIA preferred
