📋 Description

• Provide legal support and advice on regulatory and litigation matters related to MRO Corporation and its subsidiaries • Report to the Deputy General Counsel and support the Chief Legal Officer • Provide guidance on laws, regulations, and regulatory developments applicable to the healthcare industry • Analyze existing and newly enacted healthcare and privacy regulations • Review and draft regulatory summaries translating complex information into actionable guidance for the HIM industry • Drive awareness of privacy and security policies and regulations, including developing company-wide training • Manage litigation matters, including coordinating with outside counsel, tracking case strategy, and supporting discovery and document preservation obligations • Assess and prioritize incoming disputes, research and apply governing law, and determine appropriate resolution strategies • Draft memoranda, position papers, demand letters, and responsive summaries to third parties • Assist with other legal issues and projects supporting the legal department

🎯 Requirements

• Juris Doctor Degree (JD) from accredited law school • Licensed to practice law by the bar of at least one state • 3+ years of experience in a multi-client law firm, health insurer, hospital, or similar organization • Strong knowledge of healthcare law • Litigation experience required • Experience with HIPAA, health information management, or privacy law preferred • Strong interpersonal, writing, and verbal communications skills • Ability to interact with all levels of management • Strong organizational skills • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Ability to prioritize responsibilities, take initiative, and self-motivate/self-manage work and time
