• Conduct field work and related operations for non-invasive acoustic underground pipeline leak detection, monitoring, and condition assessment • Lead field data collection and support project planning and reporting throughout the project lifecycle • Lead a small onsite team of 2–3 people and coordinate with project management, subcontractor, and client teams • Support project updates, client meetings, subcontractor management, and client communication • Conduct field testing, data analysis, reporting, client management, and project management • Lead field work for a condition assessment project covering 90 miles of water mains in Newark, Delaware • Collect and analyze onsite data for leak detection and condition assessment projects • Review data and prepare project reports and leak sheets • Plan and coordinate logistics • Conduct leak detection surveys of distribution and transmission water mains • Lead collection of condition assessment measurements and summarize results for project and client distribution • Install and maintain permanent leak-detection monitoring infrastructure • Manage equipment, QA/QC, inventories, shipping, and receiving • Identify and implement continuous improvements to Operations processes and systems • Train and manage subcontracted labor onsite for hardware installation and data collection • Train clients to use and maintain equipment and perform Echologics services • Perform site inspections and document results in inspection summary reports • Track time and expenses and coordinate subcontractors • Work in compliance with Mueller Water Products’ Code of Conduct and Environmental, Health and Safety regulations
• A high school diploma or equivalent education • 3+ years of related job experience performing field data collection or hands-on outdoor work • Experience managing and coordinating small teams or subcontractors onsite • Ability to use basic hand tools • Experience with field use of testing equipment, such as surveying, sample collection, underground utility locating, GPS, etc. • Experience interpreting GIS mapping interfaces and construction drawings • Ability and desire to travel • Demonstrated ability to problem solve technical issues and work independently • Basic computer skills and experience using email, MS Office, MS Teams and MS Excel • Ability to interact with clients and customers in a field environment • Experience working on water distribution systems or in utility industries • Must hold a valid driver’s license • Ability to lift 50 lbs, climb stairs and ladders, work on uneven surfaces, work temporarily in confined spaces, and perform outdoor work in all weather conditions • Engineering Technology/Technologist diploma in mechanical engineering, civil engineering, civil engineering technology, environmental science or similar is an asset • Level 1 or higher water operator license is an asset • Experience in leak detection or condition assessment of water systems is an asset • Experience installing custom electronic equipment is an asset • Knowledge and experience measuring pressure and flow in water pipes is an asset • Construction experience/handling of power tools is an asset • Confined space entry/rescue experience or certification is an asset; training will be provided if certification is not currently held
