📋 Description

• Maintain data accuracy and input information into the appropriate computer billing system • Input new and update existing information in the computer billing system • Handle patient and interested-person questions concerning insurance, credit, and related issues • Review and mail monthly statements for private pay, commercial, compensation, and problem Blue Cross and Champus accounts • File electronic claims when available • Follow up on litigation cases • Scan necessary patient documents into the electronic medical record • Follow up with physicians and referral sources for documentation and authorization needed to bill for services • Review Munson Home Medical Equipment accounts receivable statements • Post comments, bill insurance, receive payments, coordinate refunds, send statements, and make collection calls • Refer uncollectible accounts to a collection agency

🎯 Requirements

• High school graduate • Associate’s degree in business preferred • Further education in word processing, spreadsheets, and database management required • Three years of experience in a hospital or related prior employment required • Proven above-average math skills required • Proven analytical skills required • Proven interpersonal and communication skills required • Medical terminology preferred • Must be vaccinated or have lab-confirmed immunity for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, and Varicella • Must receive a flu vaccine during the flu season in the year hired and annually thereafter, or receive an approved medical or religious exemption
