• Lead, coach, and develop the payroll team through regular 1:1s, feedback, and career growth conversations • Oversee end-to-end multi-client, multi-state payroll processing • Serve as the escalation point for complex payroll issues, wage and tax law questions • Own quality and compliance, executing QC processes, analyzing trends, and implementing corrective actions • Manage capacity, workload, and utilization • Drive continuous improvement, leveraging AI and automation • Partner with leadership, sales, and clients for onboarding and consulting
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, HR, Accounting, or a related field preferred • 7+ years of payroll experience, including multi-state and multi-client environments • Strong grasp of wage and tax laws and payroll auditing • Experience leading, coaching, and developing payroll teams • Knowledge of payroll systems and comfort evaluating and optimizing tools • Commitment to accuracy, confidentiality, compliance, and sound judgment • Collaborative leadership skills and ease working with executives and cross-functional partners • Adaptability in a dynamic, growing organization
