📋 Description

• Verify insurance companies and primary care physicians online or by phone to obtain benefit information • Complete billing tasks in a timely manner • Contact primary care physicians to obtain referrals and authorizations when required • Inform patients about insurance benefits, copays, deductibles, and self-pay balances • Enter authorization numbers and accurate CPT codes, NPI, Tax ID, PCP, and payer information into the EMR • Follow up with primary care physicians or insurance companies regarding requested authorizations • Cancel and reschedule appointments when authorizations have not arrived before the date of service • Verify that patient insurance information is correct and expire inactive payers • Answer phones promptly, handle requests and inquiries, and route them appropriately • Document referrals, communications, insurance details, and patient data in the EMR • Gather information and accurately enter insurance billing codes

🎯 Requirements

• Customer service experience • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment • Ability to handle and diffuse patient complaints and disagreements • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills • Experience navigating Electronic Medical Records and Outlook preferred • Bilingual in English/Spanish • For remote roles, must demonstrate a high level of engagement in virtual environments, including maintaining camera presence during meetings
