📋 Description

• Migrate existing bioinformatics pipelines to Nextflow, including pipeline configurations, executables and input/output paths. • Build and configure AWS cloud infrastructure to support pipeline execution, including services such as HealthOmics. • Refactor tightly coupled pipeline components using JSON and YAML to improve portability and maintainability. • Plan and execute comparative validation runs. • Contribute to benchmarking reports and validation documentation. • Develop tests to support ongoing pipeline validation and quality assurance. • Support development of monitoring and scheduling applications for cloud-based pipelines. • Maintain clear documentation of pipeline changes, configurations and operational procedures. • Support a life sciences client modernizing bioinformatics pipelines in a regulated clinical environment. • Travel to client sites for on-site assessments, workshops and conferences as needed.

🎯 Requirements

• A bachelor's or master’s degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science or a related field. • Familiarity with bioinformatics workflow management systems such as Nextflow or WDL. • Proficiency in Python and/or Bash scripting. • Familiarity with AWS cloud services such as EC2, S3, EBS, EFS and IAM or Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation. • Exposure to clinical or regulated bioinformatics environments. • Ability to work effectively within a collaborative, distributed team and support clients across a variety of industries. • Experience preparing validation or benchmarking reports. • Familiarity with Linux/HPC environments and cluster-based computing. • Exposure to high-performance or network-attached storage systems such as Isilon, VAST, or similar. • Must be available during core working hours: 11 am–5 pm EST. • Ability to travel up to 20% within the US.
