📋 Description

• Own day-to-day IT operations, user lifecycle management, and identity and access management for a distributed team • Serve as the primary technical escalation point and the CISO’s key operational partner on access and security matters • Provide Tier 1–3 technical support through ticketing systems such as HappyFox • Support Windows and macOS users with hardware, operating system, application, connectivity, printing, email, software, and access issues • Triage and resolve tickets within defined SLAs and manage escalation paths • Maintain audit-ready documentation, issue records, fixes, and internal how-to guides • Manage onboarding and offboarding, including training, account provisioning, device setup, and access control • Define and maintain IAM strategy, access reviews, role and permission assignments, least-privilege enforcement, and timely deprovisioning • Support SSO configuration and troubleshoot SaaS application access • Administer Microsoft Intune, Microsoft 365/O365, and a remote multi-OS device fleet • Enforce endpoint encryption, patching, compliance, and security policies • Support and monitor Microsoft Defender across managed devices • Handle device shipping, receiving, repairs, inventory, procurement recommendations, and hardware lifecycle management • Manage Google Workspace users, groups, and settings • Maintain and troubleshoot core SaaS tools • Build PowerShell and Bash scripts to automate IT and access-management tasks • Improve onboarding, offboarding, and device-provisioning workflows • Support HIPAA controls, audit evidence collection, security policy enforcement, and remediation items with the CISO

🎯 Requirements

• 4-6+ years of IT support experience, including experience as the senior or sole IT resource • 2-3 years of experience in a startup environment • Experience as a one-person IT department handling infrastructure, security, device management, IAM, and end-user support • Strong working knowledge of endpoint protection, identity/access security, encryption, patch management, and security best practices • Experience handling PHI and working in HIPAA-regulated environments • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Customer service experience with patience, empathy, and reassurance when supporting team members • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Intune • Experience supporting Windows and macOS environments • Experience owning IAM/access management strategy and end-to-end onboarding/offboarding processes • Experience with ticketing systems and managing work within SLAs • Scripting experience with PowerShell and Bash • Willingness to ship, receive, and temporarily store company equipment at home • Ability to work independently, own ambiguous problems, and manage competing priorities in a remote environment • Must be based in the United States, Eastern Time Zone • Preferred: familiarity with least-privilege access principles • Preferred: security certifications or demonstrable security-focused project work • Preferred: SOC 2 familiarity • Preferred: Microsoft Defender and Azure AD experience • Preferred: Google Workspace administration experience • Preferred: mentoring or technical guidance experience • Preferred certifications: Microsoft Endpoint Administrator, Google Workspace Administrator, CompTIA Security+, ITIL Foundation
