• Lead production support for bioinformatics and data science algorithms behind Women's Health and Organ Health products • Lead a team of Data and Bioinformatics Scientists accountable for algorithm behavior on real samples • Own the interface between the Data and Bioinformatics Scientists and the production organization • Resolve inconclusive reports by assessing technical constraints and data quality issues • Determine upstream process changes to reduce inconclusive cases • Maintain a catalogue of known patterns for matching new cases to settled cases • Use AI to assemble and help interpret evidence during triage • Coordinate with Production Engineering, Product, the laboratory, and R&D to align changes in direction and scope • Define service commitments for turnaround and coverage • Build the processes and staffing needed to meet service commitments • Own production support and ensure answers are correct and timely • Lead cross-system investigations and identify ownership of fixes • Convert one-off investigations into durable rules and design changes • Own process validation for pipeline and algorithm changes • Define evidence requirements before changes enter sample-running workflows • Lead, hire, and develop Data and Bioinformatics Scientists • Partner with Production Engineering, Product, Bio Development, laboratory operations, and Data Science R&D • Establish standards for agent-assisted investigation and determine when conclusions require manual reproduction • Reduce recurring escalations and test turnaround time • Establish and maintain change validation and support processes
• M.S. or Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Data Science, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent depth built through work • 5+ years working with genomic or sequencing data • 2+ years leading people • Demonstrated ownership of a support, escalation, or on-call function with commitments attached • Experience leading investigations across more than one system boundary through resolution • Ability to reach agreement across organizational lines without authority • Sequencing and bioinformatics fluency sufficient to distinguish pipeline failures from expected behavior • Ability to reconstruct events from logs, intermediate files, and pipeline outputs • Python and SQL for investigation, record retrieval, run comparison, and tool building • Experience with change control, validation, and documentation practices • Experience defining support processes, setting commitments, securing agreement, and staffing appropriately • Demonstrated people leadership, including developing, hiring, or repositioning team members • Understanding of laboratory operations and upstream data issues • Senior-level communication, negotiation, and persuasion skills • Machine learning or statistical analysis applied to genomic data is useful but not a gate • Experience with cell-free DNA, prenatal, or carrier screening applications is advantageous • Experience in an accredited or high-complexity laboratory or regulated diagnostic setting is advantageous • Familiarity with WDL, Nextflow, Snakemake, or Cromwell is advantageous • Experience building observability or alerting is advantageous
