• Coordinate with the Division Funding Director, Funding Manager, Funding Supervisor, Branch Manager, Rehabilitation Technology Supplier, and office support personnel to complete operational procedures according to company policy and expected timelines • Thoroughly review orders for accuracy and educate Funding Specialists when errors are identified • Maintain working knowledge of durable medical equipment, company policies and procedures, and insurance eligibility and reimbursement guidelines • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures • Manage transaction cycle time from Coding and Pricing Complete to Documentation Complete • Support Funding Specialists during PTO, leave, open positions, and other identified needs • Communicate with referral sources, physicians, therapists, RTSs, clients, and internal and external customers to secure required documentation • Request, gather, review, and verify funding package documentation, prescriptions, Letters of Medical Necessity, evaluations, price lists, and forms • Review documentation for payer guideline compliance and educate relevant parties when documentation is incomplete or inaccurate • Gather and verify insurance coverage information and communicate benefits and coverage to clients • Maintain client communication, including financial responsibility notifications and hardship-process guidance where allowed • Follow document-collection escalation policies and coordinate Funding Action Required tasks • Investigate payer documentation requirements and update the UPD • Investigate and resolve funding-process issues and concerns • Complete additional funding tasks, including Coding and Pricing, Submissions, Authorization collection, PPQA, and Delivery Verifications • Provide direction, instructions, and guidance to staff • Document best practices, identify training opportunities, and coordinate improvements or UPD updates • Facilitate problem solving and collaboration • Motivate and recognize team members • Assist with customer complaints, billing and payer concerns, and correspondence • Support performance monitoring and evaluation processes • Communicate team status, task accomplishment, and direction to management • Perform routine audits to identify coaching opportunities and ensure high staff performance • Assist with new business acquisitions and temporary branch processing needs • Perform other related duties and special assignments as requested
• Minimum of 3 years of experience related to Durable Medical Equipment and/or Complex Rehab Technology required • Preferred experience in all aspects of a Funding Specialist’s position, including processing Repairs and Non-Repairs • Extensive knowledge of the process and insurance guidelines to secure funding for Durable Medical Equipment and/or Complex Rehab Technology • Comprehensive knowledge of insurance verification for DME • Experience with applications such as Mobility Advisor or data management systems required • Proven record of excellent people skills, including good communication and interpersonal skills • Strong leadership skills • Strong team player • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail • Customer service driven • Excellent computer and technology skills • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, Outlook, and PowerPoint • Experience with Excel, including spreadsheets and formulas, and Outlook email required • Ability to be a strong role model for high performance and productivity • Ability to manage and develop others remotely • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business reports, technical procedures, work instructions, and governmental regulations • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and develop training materials • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from a variety of staff • Basic understanding of and willingness to learn and adopt professional and industry standards
