• Lead implementation of the RGL Rancher Network Strategy across boundaries • Engage, activate, and expand rancher networks supporting improved grazing management and place-based conservation • Support business units in building relationships with rancher-led coalitions, conservation partners, and supply chain entities • Manage TNC’s involvement in the multi-state federal DoD REPI Warren grant and other grant-funded initiatives • Implement improved management practices and ensure compliance with program outcomes and grant agreements • Develop innovative tools, tactics, and policies to facilitate regenerative management adoption • Identify strategies to overcome entry barriers for new and under-represented producers • Coordinate resources and strategies across key grazing landscapes and synthesize rancher and partner perspectives • Develop and manage external partnerships, including with DoD, World Wildlife Fund, Ducks Unlimited, Bird Conservancy of the Rockies, and others • Identify partnership opportunities with Indigenous producers • Maintain performance standards, control costs, and administer project budgets • Raise public and private funds to support program needs and allied organizations • Lead small matrixed teams and intermittently supervise staff, interns, or volunteers • Coordinate with staff and partners across the US or region, including occasional travel and off-hours/weekends
• BA/BS degree and 7 years’ experience in conservation practice or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience • Experience in grazing land and grassland restoration and conservation management • Knowledge of current trends and practices in ranch management, conservation, and grazing disciplines, including regional variations • Experience managing complex or multiple projects and budgets, including finances and coordinating other professionals and partners • Experience developing, submitting, and administering public and private grants • Experience applying scientific concepts and technical innovations for conservation purposes in grazing land settings • Experience developing partnerships with non-profit partners, industry, community groups, and government agencies • Experience negotiating complex partnership agreements • Excellent written and oral communication skills • Strong grasp of cultural differences and norms and ability to operate in various cultures • Demonstrated experience influencing, developing, and implementing conservation practices, policy, and plans through agricultural industry networks • Valid driver's license and compliance with TNC’s Auto Safety Program • Successful completion of TNC’s background screening process
