📋 Description

• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to produce filing materials for Nearmap attributes and scores used in rating • Create model memos, validation and accuracy metrics, and actuarial exhibits for submissions • Document and maintain state-specific model validation requirements, confidentiality, and trade secret treatments • Produce model validation metrics, coverage rates, distributional analysis, bias and fairness testing, and state-by-state breakdowns • Lead analytical responses to regulator objections and participate in calls with departments of insurance • Manage Nearmap filings, including SERFF accounts and filing records • Advise customers and GTM teams on filing readiness and approval risk • Partner with carrier actuarial and pricing teams on implementing Nearmap data in rating plans • Support pre-sales data tests and lift analyses demonstrating predictive value • Build reusable validation templates and exhibits • Establish product requirements so new products and scores are filing-ready upon release

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of property and casualty actuarial experience, with real exposure to pricing, ratemaking, or rate filings • ACAS or FCAS credentialing strongly preferred • Substantial ratemaking and filing experience considered • Experience preparing actuarial exhibits for rate filings and responding to regulator objections • Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, statistics, mathematics, economics, or a related field • Ability to explain carrier-led rate filing processes to non-actuaries • Comfort with predictive model output, including GLMs, gradient boosting, and validation statistics • Experience with large claims and exposure data using SQL, R, or Python • Ability to write technical documentation suitable for regulators • Client-facing experience and ability to work with carrier actuarial leadership • Experience at an actuarial consultancy or directly at a carrier supporting rate filings across multiple states and carriers preferred • Experience with catastrophe or property peril models, or imagery-derived and AI-derived rating variables preferred • Prior regulator-side ratemaking review experience preferred • Familiarity with SERFF and filing mechanics preferred
