📋 Description

• Own ClickHouse schema, data model, and migrations • Own materialized views, performance, and scale • Own data ingestion, lifecycle, and operability • Build reports and analytics via Metabase • Enable data storytelling • Provide world-class data storage, reporting, analytics, and visualization capabilities • Build automations, Claude configurations, test harnesses, and documentation so humans and AI can contribute safely • Set technical conventions and make pragmatic depth-versus-breadth decisions • Work across SQL, Go, Python, Helm, and potentially TypeScript • Materialize, report, and scale security-posture data correctly without owning connectors, discovery, detection, classification, risk scoring, PostgreSQL, or core application services

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years in data/analytics engineering, including prior tech-lead experience • Meaningful time owning an OLAP database in production • ClickHouse ideal; Redshift, BigQuery, Snowflake, and others may be acceptable • Deep SQL and analytical-engine fluency preferred • Understanding of materialized views, partitioning, and OLAP database design • Ability to diagnose and structurally fix performance and memory problems at scale, including OOMs, read amplification, runaway joins, and recursive/graph queries • Strong BI/reporting experience with dashboards and a report-facing layer used by real users • Metabase is a strong plus; Looker, Superset, Tableau, and Power BI experience transfers • Comfort with Golang and Kubernetes is a huge plus • Comfortable being the single accountable person for an area and making pragmatic depth-vs-breadth decisions • Comfortable working in an AI-first team using Claude Code skills/slash commands and authoring configurations • Customer-facing and enablement experience preferred • Data-science / statistics experience preferred
