📋 Description

• Develop and improve the Android stack, including networking, analytics, experiments, modular app structure, and testing infrastructure • Make direct contributions to Nextdoor’s product • Build features and infrastructure for the Android app • Develop delightful, polished, and bug-free user-facing features • Ship features consistently and quickly • Mentor junior engineers • Help improve the engineering culture • Contribute across the app, from UI components to the analytics framework • Test code using frameworks such as JUnit, MockK, and Roborazzi • Collaborate with developers, product managers, and designers • Use AI tools such as Claude, Gemini, ChatGPT, and Glean as part of the workflow and take ownership of AI-assisted outputs

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as an Engineer and/or ability to perform at an advanced level in the domain • Ability to deliver delightful, polished, and bug-free features while shipping consistently and quickly • Desire to mentor junior engineers and help improve engineering culture • Strong self-motivation and flexibility • Ability to improve any part of the app, from UI components to the analytics framework • Experience testing code with JUnit, MockK, and Roborazzi • Active use of AI tools such as Claude, Gemini, ChatGPT, and Glean as part of the workflow • Expertise in Kotlin (bonus) • Familiarity with OkHttp, Retrofit, and Apollo GraphQL (bonus) • Knowledge of MVI, Coroutines, Mavericks, and Jetpack Compose (bonus) • Familiarity with Gradle and Metro for modularization and dependency injection (bonus)
