⢠Oversee learner financial services, billing and receivables, and cashiering operations ⢠Supervise application of financial aid to college charges and release compliant financial aid refunds ⢠Maintain accuracy of charges, credits, payments, and refunds ⢠Reconcile accounts receivable sub-ledger to the general ledger ⢠Coordinate reconciliations for direct loans, drawdowns, cash payments, and institutional loans ⢠Oversee credit-balance refunds, direct-deposit records, and deposit-return resolution ⢠Administer the SIS system for accurate revenue and fee processing and posting ⢠Provide reports on receipts and technical information to the college community and external funding agencies ⢠Recommend and shape financial policies and procedures ⢠Champion customer-oriented service for learners, parents, collaborators, and outside customers ⢠Partner with internal and external auditors and provide accounting records ⢠Direct implementation and recordkeeping of lending programs ⢠Set strategic goals and plans for the Bursar's Office and evaluate effectiveness ⢠Build and staff the team through recruiting, training, supervision, and evaluation ⢠Manage the annual department budget and conduct cost/productivity analyses ⢠Represent the College to internal divisions and external partners ⢠Plan and implement resource- and revenue-generation strategies
⢠Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related business field ⢠4+ years of experience in accounting or bursar operations ⢠At least 1 year of experience in a supervisory role ⢠Working knowledge of federal and state financial regulations and university financial policies and procedures ⢠Skill in budget preparation and fiscal management ⢠Knowledge of cashiering, cash management, and accounts receivable principles and practices ⢠Strong independent judgment and ability to communicate technical information clearly in written reports ⢠Customer-service mindset and ability to re-engineer processes and implement new strategies ⢠Experience supervising and developing staff and organizing and prioritizing team workloads ⢠Excellent interpersonal and community-relations skills ⢠Ability to work effectively across a diverse community ⢠Ability to design and administer complex recordkeeping systems and procedures ⢠Familiarity with financial software for complex reports, comparisons, and projections ⢠Successful completion of a background check and drug screen required
