• Design and develop auxiliary systems for turboexpanders, compressors, turbines, pumps, and rotating equipment • Prepare PFDs, P&IDs, equipment layouts, and system architecture drawings • Specify and size lubrication oil systems, seal gas systems, coolers, heat exchangers, pumps, filtration systems, pressure vessels, accumulators, control valves, instrumentation, and piping • Perform process calculations for flow, pressure drop, heat transfer, and equipment sizing • Develop technical specifications, datasheets, bills of materials, and procurement packages • Select equipment, evaluate vendor quotations, and review supplier engineering documentation • Ensure mechanical, process, electrical, and control system compatibility and integration • Support projects from proposal through commissioning • Participate in design reviews, HAZOPs, customer meetings, and bid clarification meetings • Coordinate engineering deliverables across multiple disciplines • Manage technical interfaces with customers, EPC contractors, and equipment suppliers • Provide technical support during manufacturing, assembly, FAT, and startup activities • Define instrumentation requirements and control philosophies for turbomachinery packages • Develop control narratives and cause-and-effect documentation • Support PLC/DCS interface requirements and review control logic • Ensure designs comply with applicable industry standards and customer specifications • Participate in design verification and quality reviews • Support installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and performance testing • Investigate field issues and develop engineering solutions • Provide aftermarket support and support root-cause analyses and reliability improvement initiatives
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or a related engineering discipline • 3–5 years’ experience as an instrument and control engineer, especially in turbomachinery • Knowledge of NEC, UL, IEC, CE Directives, ATEX, ISA standards, hazardous codes, CSA electrical panel safety codes, and SIS • Experience applying these standards to cryogenic pumps and turboexpander control systems • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills • Self-starter with a positive make-happen attitude • Ability to handle multiple tasks and work as a team player • Demonstrated ability to self-improve • Commitment to safety • Ability to talk or hear, with close vision and ability to adjust focus • Ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand on a stool as necessary
