📋 Description

• Manage overall performance of assigned remote camp operations covering Food Service and Housekeeping Departments • Uphold NMS standards, policies and procedures while maintaining relationships with clients, customers and employees • Provide management and oversight of assigned remote camp activities • Serve as primary resource for NMS Food Service and Housekeeping employees within the assigned unit and backup resource for other areas • Deliver and track performance against key performance indicators • Coach and develop employees through formal coaching and succession planning • Advance NMS performance excellence strategy and continuous improvement • Facilitate a “One Team” relationship dynamic within NMS • Direct and coordinate assigned NMS services • Develop and implement comprehensive business plans • Establish supervision systems and formal operating procedures • Ensure compliance with sound business practices and internal and external requirements • Monitor compliance with regulatory requirements • Meet with clients/customers to maintain relationships, market products, resolve problems, and maintain communication • Lead, direct and communicate with staff to keep them informed and motivated • Define and communicate employee responsibilities, authorities and accountability • Assign tasks and inspect completed work for conformance to standards • Develop and manage the operating budget; approve assigned-area budget expenditures • Develop bid materials and cost/manpower templates for catering contracts • Develop menus and scopes of work for bid proposals • Support safety and continuous improvement programs • Manage subordinate Managers, Supervisors and assigned employees • Interview, hire, train, assign, direct, appraise, reward and discipline employees; address complaints and resolve problems • Perform other duties pertinent to department or unit success

🎯 Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent • At least two (2) years of formal college training related to the business field (candidates without any college must have two (2) additional years of related managerial experience) • At least seven (7) years of related service based, hospitality, food service, housekeeping, hotel or remote camp management experience, including at least two (2) years of significant overall supervisory responsibilities for a distinct business operation/enterprise • Reliable and dependable attendance in a remote setting • Must pass all pre-employment contract requirements, which may include criminal background check, drug test, physical and fit for duty assessment, and hearing test • Must be able to live in dormitory style settings and meet cleanliness requirements of the remote camp • Must meet and adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations set forth by the company and client • Contract requires employees to read, write, speak and understand English • Must be able to perform each essential duty with a professional degree of competency • Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years • Proven success at managing multiple tasks, projects and subordinates • Proficiency in planning and organization • Demonstrated understanding of profit attainment and profit growth • Strong ability to lead, build diverse teams and oversee training • Personal maturity and poise; ability to remain composed under pressure, make sound decisions, and manage diversity • Personal drive and energy, with a liking of challenges and opportunities to innovate • Computer literacy, including Microsoft applications and web-based applications • Working knowledge of general accounting principles and current NMS accounting policies • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Ability to meet listed physical requirements, including lifting and carrying 25 lbs., squatting, kneeling, and climbing stairs • Candidates residing in the Lower 48 are responsible for certain travel expenses and accommodations related to pre-employment tasks in Anchorage or Fairbanks
