• Direct activities of staff providing industrial housekeeping and janitorial services • Provide cleaning services to maintain cleanliness, efficiency, and livability of commercial/industrial facilities • Operate and direct activities of a commissary facility • Assign, supervise, guide, and schedule housekeeping and janitorial staff • Approve payroll documents, payables, supply orders, and billings • Train new staff and provide ongoing training • Establish quality standards and work procedures and evaluate staff performance • Resolve work-related difficulties and provide recognition, counseling, and discipline • Interview and/or hire housekeeping and janitorial staff as needed • Support and guide staff under the corporate and client safety programs • Conduct safety meetings and ensure daily operations comply with safety requirements • Identify, resolve, or report worksite safety hazards • Maintain HazCom implementation documentation and administrative records • Control, replace, and distribute assigned inventories • Conduct facility inspections and coordinate equipment care and maintenance • Manage unit scheduling and travel requests • Resolve minor maintenance or client emergencies or arrange permanent solutions • Handle commissary cash, inventory control, deposits, ordering, and merchandising as assigned • Notify supervisors when safety and sanitation standards are not met
• High school diploma or GED equivalent supplemented by formal training, or equivalent experience • Minimum of three (3) years of verifiable management experience in housekeeping, janitorial, or service industry • Working knowledge of cleaning processes and equipment • Experience training and providing direction to staff • Involvement in or advanced knowledge of corporate safety programs • Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years under NMS’ vehicle insurance policy • Intermediate skills operating Microsoft Office applications • Must pass pre-employment contract requirements, which may include drug test, physical and fit for duty assessment, and hearing test • Must be able to cooperate and work as part of a team with employees, customers, and clients • Must be able to make decisions with little to no supervision • Must be able to stand for 12 hours per shift during the scheduled rotation • Must be able to live in dormitory-style settings and meet remote camp cleanliness requirements • Must speak, understand, read, and write English • Must meet and adhere to company and client safety guidelines and regulations • Candidates outside the Fairbanks area may be responsible for travel expenses and accommodations for pre-employment tasks in Fairbanks • Must be able to travel by plane and/or bus to remote camps • Must meet the listed Fit For Duty physical requirements, including lifting, carrying, climbing stairs and ladders, kneeling, squatting, and related movements • Must work in indoor/outdoor conditions and frequently tolerate arctic conditions, moderate to loud noise, fumes or airborne particles, and potentially toxic or caustic chemicals
